Mecardo Analysis - Wool Forwards – Week ending 31st August 2018

Activity on the wool forwards market was spread right across the micron categories this week. The Australian dollar has continued to fall, which is helping overseas buyers remain active.
19 micron wool traded at 2,250¢ for January 2019, 2,220¢ and 2,250¢ for February 2019 and 2,220¢ for April 2019.
21 micron fibre contracts traded at 2,175¢ for November 2018 and 2,160¢ for December 2018. A few deals were also stuck on broad fibre wool. A 28 micron contract traded at 940¢. 2 deals were also struck for 30 micron wool at 700¢ for January and February 2019.
A minimum price contract traded for 18.5 micron wool. With a strike price of 2050¢ and premium of 40¢, the grower has until April 2019 to decide whether they will take out the option.
