Yarding - 8200

A smaller yarding of 6,000 lambs quality varied with limited numbers in all weights and grades. The majority of the yarding was secondary types lacking finish with limited heavy export and trade lambs with good fat cover offered. A similar field of buyers were present and bidding competition was stronger to a week ago, overall the market ended $7 to $15/head dearer across most categories.

Light lambs under 18kg cwt to suit MK orders to the trade sold from $57 to $122/head. Trade lambs 18 to 22kg made from $116 to $158, lambs 22 to 24kg sold from $153 to $185, lambs 24 to 26kg made from $173 to $183/head with a wide average range of 650c to 710c/kg cwt. Heavy export lambs 26 to 30kg made from $183 to $220 and over 30kg sold from $238 to $248/head with an average of 685c to 695/kg cwt.

Another small yarding of mutton at 2,000 penned, quality was mixed ranging from plain to good. More competition with extra buyers present and the market started firm to gain momentum as sale progressed to average $10/head better on last weeks level’s. Merino wethers made from $105 to $174/head. Merino ewes sold from $75 to $160 and heavy crossbred sheep made $137 to $200/head with mutton averaging 530c to 600c/kg across the yarding.
