Agents yarded 19,200 lambs, quality ranged from plain to good, with the majority of the yarding lighter weights, all lamb in wool showing the signs of feed drying off and whether heating up, with dryness in the skins. Not all the usual buying group were present, in a market that start stronger to ease as the sale progressed, as processors didn’t have any errancy when bidding, to end firm to $8/head cheaper in places. Store buyers were very active paying $86 to $170 for under 18kg lambs and $166 to $218/head for 20kg and over, to be firm to slightly easier.

Shorn lambs sold from $215 to $273 for the heavier weights over 24kg to average 850c to 880c and the lighter trade weights from $168 to $204/head to average 830c/kg cwt. Light lamb to the trade to suit MK orders sold from $144 to $149/head. Lambs to the trade 18 to 22kg sold from $165 to $190, 22 to 24kg, made from $190 to $218/head to range from 800c to 830c/kg cwt. Lambs 24 to 26kg selling from $207 to $240/head, to average 840c to 860c/kg cwt. Export 4 score 26 to 30kg lambs, sold from $228 to $260/head to average 830c/kg cwt.

Sheep numbers decreased to 8,500 yarded, the quality was plain to very good with plenty of weight offered, in a mostly firm market. Heavy Merino wethers over 24kg sold from $160 to $200/head to average 610c to 630c/kg cwt. Heavy Merino ewes sold from $143 to $204 to average 590c to 610c and heavy crossbred mutton made from $185 to $230/head, with an average of 580c/kg cwt.
