Look after your Ute - So, by the start of 2026, the Government is proposing that we switch over to EU Engine protocols. This means that you won't be able to buy any of the Utes that are currently on the market, as they won't conform.

So, let's do some scenario-playing if it did happen. What will that do to the used Ute market? My thinking is that it would take off because people would look at Utes in a different light.

Remember when Toyota shifted over to the 300 series Landcruiser Wagons, and the market for the 200 series was red hot because people loved the V8s, which wasn't available in the new model?

Farmers, Tradies, Caravaners and the like would look to hold onto their Ute for longer until there were viable alternatives came out. That's the scenario if it does happen, surely common sense will prevail and the powers that be delve a little deeper into what the consequences of this decision might be.
