Yarding: 37,658

Lamb supply increased to 26,169 penned, quality remained very good through the heavy trade and export categories. Light trade and store lambs were mixed ranging from plain to very good. All the usual buying group attended, the market opened dearer on the light trade and store lambs and became erratic as buyers were more selective, while well finished trade and heavy export remained strong throughout the market. Light trade sold a few dollars either side of firm depending on weight and quality medium trade was to firm, heavy trade gained $4/head. Heavy export lambs sold to a top of $297 and were $7/head stronger to last weeks levels. Extra store buyers were present and active in the market, well bred light lambs were to $10 dearer, while the secondary types slipped $15/head in places.

Lambs back to the paddock under 18kg made from $12 to $146 and over 18kg from $138 to $168/head. Lambs to the trade to suit MK orders under 18kg sold from $121 to $140, 18-22kg, sold from $134 to $181/head, 22-24kg sold from $172 to $200/head and 24-26kg made from $196 to $218/head. Export lambs over 26kg sold from $215 to $297/head. Lambs with good weight and finish average from 780c to 830c and the secondary types from 700c to 760c/kg cwt.

Sheep numbers increased to 11,489, Merino wether sold from $30 to $125, gaining $10/head. Merino ewes made from $48 to $110, firm to $4 dearer and heavy crossbred mutton sold from $79 to $122, slipping $8/head.
