Lamb supply remained similar to a week ago with 25,932 yarded, the quality ranged from plain to very good. A large portion of the yarding consisted of light and medium weight lamb in wool lacking finish, showing the signs of the cold and very wet conditions. All the usual buying group were present and there were extra store buyers active in the market, putting pressure on processors to see light lambs back to the paddock selling to $15/head dearer.

Light trade lambs were $6 to $12 better, medium trade gained $2 to $4, heavy trade sold firm to $2 better and heavy export were in limited numbers, but more weight was offered this week selling to $8/head dearer but remained mostly firm c/kg cwt. Store lambs back to the paddock and to feed on sold from $50 to $188/head. Young lambs to the trade under 18kg sold from $130 to $145, trade lambs 18 to 22kg made from $147 to $203, 22 to 24kg sold from $186 to $218 and 24 to 26kg made from $215 to $245/head. Heavy export lambs 26kg and over sold from $243 to $276/kg. Most lambs tracked between 820 to 900c/kg cwt.

Sheep numbers increased but the market lacked intensity, buyers were selective in a softer market, across all categories were $10 to $15 cheaper and $30/head in places. Merino wethers from $38 to $150, Merino ewes sold from $36 to $145 and heavy crossbred mutton sold from $106 to $155/head, with most tracking between 400c to 460c/kg cwt.
