Let my scars be your learnings - It's an interesting headline, one Nigel Kerin (Kerin Ag, Yoeval, NSW) used for his upcoming webinar. His webinar is titled "Maximising Opportunity Webinar - The Low Hanging Fruit In Your Livestock Business". As a Livestock Producer, I suggest you register and hear what Nigel has to say on this topic and how he goes about trading Livestock. I call them Nigelisms. Get ready for a few.....

Apart from the headline, this bit piqued my curiosity: "one of the topics is what protocols does your business have in place that triggers you to be a seller, a buyer or a holder of livestock".

I find Selling Livestock an interesting topic, especially when it's in the hands of Farmer's and Agents. I had a conversation with an Agent the other day about how the market can be distorted when you have these two parties pricing their own or their client's stock. It means higher reserves. What happens is that we fall in love with our own article that we have worked hard to get to this (selling) point. And that's why Auctionplus can be tough going on a falling or low market. And I say that with all due respect.

I get why both parties want to achieve the maximum result. It's human nature. But the cost of not selling can sometimes come back to bite us on the arse big time. There are times when you have to take a loss. They are the "scars". I will let Big Nige explain. I suggest you tune in.
