Landline, it's not just us - We got a big response from our story about how we don't watch Landline much anymore.

Lots of people responded either through reply email or through social media feeds, saying the same thing that many had given up on Landline, and many even went further by saying they don't watch or listen to the ABC.

Many cited wokeness as the reason they don't watch, and many said it's not relevant to mainstream Ag anymore. Some switched off in protest when founder Kerry Lonergan was sacked, and we even got a whack from a few people ourselves for Landline bashing. And yes, there were a few people supporting the program in its current form. Not many, but.

One thing that did ring true from nearly everyone was that they were huge fans of the show "once". Like us, it was a Sunday staple until it wavered from its original format. It's interesting why they chose this direction, alienating its once core viewer base, Farmers. It would be interesting to see a chart of the ratings over the years. There also might be an opportunity for an enterprising person to start up a Landline equivalent and model it on the format from 10 years ago, back when it was a "must-watch" program.
