Agents drew for 30,200 lambs, the quality was mostly excellent with all weight categories offered across the yarding. All the usual buying group attended and operated in a market that was mostly firm bouncing either side throughout the sale. Light and medium trade lambs sold firm to $2/head easier, heavy trade were firm to $3 dearer. Export lambs sold fully firm and extra heavy lambs sold to a top of $328/head. Lightweight lambs back to the paddock sold very strong, from $129 to $191/head to be $5 to $10/head dearer in places. Lambs suiting MK orders sold from $129 to $176/head.
Lambs to the trade 18 to 22kg sold from $160 to $193, 22 to 24kg, made from $183 to $205/head to range from 770c to 895c to average815c to 830c/kg cwt. Lambs 24 to 26kg selling from $193 to $216/head, to average 810c/kg cwt. Export 4 score 26 to 30kg lambs, sold from $210 to $246 to average 795c and over 30kg sold from $236 to $328/head to average an estimated 780c/kg cwt.
A smaller yarding of 6,700 sheep, not all processors were present. Light and medium weight sheep were again in demand selling to $10/head dearer and heavy mutton was stronger this week, selling to a top of $288 for crossbreds and $270/head for heavy merino wethers.
Heavy Merino wethers over 24kg sold from $178 to $270, with lighter weights making from $150 to $190/head to average 710c to 730c cwt.Heavy Merino ewes sold from $172 to $230/head to average 690c to 705c/kg and heavy crossbred ewes made from $174 to $284/head, with an average of 690/kg cwt. Rams sold to $188 for Merino‘s and crossbreds to $160/head.
