Lamb numbers increased to 16,300 penned, quality ranged from plain to very good. The usual buying group attend in a market that was either side of firm depending on weight, finish and quality. New season’s light plain type store lambs sold to $5/head cheaper, Medium and heavy trade lambs sold mostly firm, and heavy export lambs sold to a few dollars dearer. The heavy old lambs yarded with good finish sold dearer $/head but with better quality and more weight offered this week.

Store buyers were active on the store new season lambs paying $94 to $188/head. Young lambs sold to the trade under 18kg from $114 to $140, 18 to 24kg made from $144 to $197, 24 to 26kg sold from $195 to $217 and Over 26kg made from $212 to $250/head with a wide average range from 780c to 830c/kg cwt.

Heavy old export lambs over 26kg sold from $194 to $259/head, with some lambs reaching over 800c/kg cwt.

Sheep numbers also increased to 9,530, with a better quality offering of heavy mutton yarded, bidding was stronger across all categories, to be from $10 to $15/head dearer in places. Merino wethers made from $90 to $167/head. Merino ewes sold from $76 to $177 and heavy crossbred mutton made $80 to $188/head.
