Just a Farmer, not: --- How times have you heard over the years Farmers describing themselves to others as "just" a Farmer? Now, not so much as Farmer's profiles have lifted and along with it, their self-confidence has risen.

No longer are Farmers embarrassed about their occupation, whereas in the past many were, not all, but many.

When I was a young bloke, post-school and working on the family Farm, if I was in a social situation outside my local area (more so when I went to the city), I would blatantly tell a proky by saying I was an accountant (good god). I remember being embarrassed for many years that I was a Farmer, and to lift my so-called profile, I had to tell them I was something else I wasn't. What a dick.

I guess that's why many young people didn't touch Ag with a barge pole 20 or so years ago because many of us that were in the game weren't talking it up. That's so different to today, where Ag is now a destination for many.
