It’s the Green Paint.... - We spoke in one of our Farmers Club stories yesterday about how a relative newcomer American Service Station company is expanding like no tomorrow on a simple promise that is resonating with the general public. Super clean toilets, yes, you heard me right, super clean toilets.
See the article at the bottom of this page. It's an interesting marketing ploy, ingenious. I asked my wife Paula, and she said she would pay an extra 10 cents for fuel or go out of her way if there was something like that here.

I just got off the phone with a Farming mate, and we were talking about Machinery and how John Deere is showing the others a clean pair of heels right at this moment. This guy dabbles in a bit of Machinery trading, and he said that the John Deere stuff has superior paint to its rivals. Yep, the green stuff. He said whatever they do to the paint, it’s just so superior to the others. He said he had a Header come across his books with 3000 hours on the clock, and with a spruce up, it looked like a Header that had done 1500 hours. It’s the paint, he said.
So, like our new favourite servos in the US, whose point of difference is clean toilets, John Deere's point of difference might be the paint…. I think they would be pretty offended by that, and they would say it is a multitude of things that sets them apart, but when I think about the last time I saw a brand new bit of John Deere kit, it shined like nothing else. They might not have ever thought about it, but it might be the aesthetics of it all that gets people across the line. Don't underestimate the paint. What do you like about your Machinery brand of choice? Have a great weekend. Reply to dwaind@farmtender.com.au
