If every job paid the same..... -- I was listening to this podcast this morning, and one of the questions was, "If all jobs paid the same, what would you do?" It got me thinking about the things I enjoy outside the main pursuit of Agriculture.

I came up with rolling turf Cricket wickets (Curator). I did it when we lived in Yarrawonga and loved the challenge of it. It's a bit like Farming in that you are working with the elements (Soil, Grass, Weather, Machinery, people). At the time, we were living in town doing my current role, so I guess it was something that got me away from the computer screen and home office.

Like Farming, no 2 days are the same when rolling a wicket. You have a wide range of situations to deal with, like how much water to put on, when to start rolling, do I need to put grass clipping on bare patches, do I cover it overnight if it rains, how much rolling, is it going to be hot, is it going to be cold, how many days does it have to last, and many more.

And, like Farming, you get plenty of feedback. If the wicket turns out good, it's pats on the back, if it's not good, then expect a barrage or criticism. What would you do?
