Us folk in Rural and Regional Australia shouldn't have to put up with slow internet and poor mobile phone service in 2022. But we do.
Well, I'm here to let you know that things have changed dramatically on the internet front. Old mate Elon Musk has released Starlink to the world, and it's now available here.
Starlink is a group of Low Earth Orbit (LEO) Satellites that hover around 350 to 550 kilometres above the earth. The current NBN satellite, Skymuster, has satellites about 35,000 kilometres above the earth. So the LEO's are superior.
We live in Rural Victoria, and we got Starlink a month ago, and it's been a game-changer for us. It's fast, mostly reliable (it can drop out, usually for only a few seconds at a time), has unlimited data, and takes 10 minutes to set up.
Farmers and Rural people deserve decent quality internet. Now it's here.
You will just have to check if it's available in your area. Go to the website here and punch in your address.
I recommend it.
