Yarding: 46,190

Lamb numbers slipped to 23,300, quality was again mixed with lighter store types dominating to yarding while heavy trade and export lambs were in limited supply. All the usual buyers were present and all were active in a stronger market with almost all categories seeing prices increases of $10 to $20 and in places sales were to $25/head dearer. Heavy export over 30kg held firm with a very limited offering. Store buyers were again active in the market paying $44 to $143, gaining $10 and lambs over 18kg made from $141 to $185 selling to $5 to $10/head stronger, buyers again stepping up in weight categories.

Lambs sold to the trade under 18kg to suit MK orders from $111 to $148, trade lambs 18 to 22kg made from $144 to $199, 22 to 24kg sold from $183 to $220/head. Heavy trade lambs 24 to 26kg made from $216 to $237 and heavy export lambs 26kg and over sold from $227 to $295/head. Lighter store and trade lambs averaged from 720c to 780c/kg while the well finished trade and heavy lambs from 800c to 900c/kg cwt depending on quality and finish.

Sheep numbers also decreased to 5,600 in a stronger market to across the yarding with extra competition from processors, light sheep sold $8 to $12 dearer and heavy sheep firm to $5/head dollars stronger. Merino wethers selling from $94 to $115/head. Heavy Merion ewes sold from $72 to $115, and heavy crossbred mutton sold from $82 to $145/head.
