Lamb supply eased to just under 15,000 head. Excellent quality runs of heavy trade and extra heavy export lambs coming off supplementary feed were penned, the quality varied through the medium to light weight categories from plain to very good. Most of the usual buying group attended where the market started solid to a week ago and gained momentum as the sale progressed and remained very strong to the finish. Light trade lambs gained $6 to $8 with medium and heavy trade selling to $9/head dearer. Heavy and extra heavy export lambs sold to a top of $290/head, not the weight yarded to a week ago, however gaining $10/head.

Competition from store buyers was softer with lambs back to the paddock and to feed on made from $62 to $177 selling to $6/head cheaper. Light lambs under 18kg cwt to suit MK orders to the trade sold from $122 to $158/head. Trade lambs 18 to 22kg made from $155 to $194, lambs 22 to 24kg sold from $191 to $214 and lambs 24 to 26kg made from $200 to $225/head with an average range of 815c to 850c/kg cwt. Export lambs 26 to 30kg made from $220 to $251 to average 800c to 820c/kg and over 30kg sold from $250 to $290/head with an average of 780c/kg cwt.

A small mutton yarding of 3,400 where the quality was mixed ranging from plain to very good with more competition from processors in a very strong market. Mutton sold $10 to $25/head dearer across most categories. Heavy Merino wethers made from $184 to $227/head gaining $22/head to average 700c to 750c/kg cwt. Heavy Merino ewes sold from $200 to $223 and heavy crossbred mutton made $166 to $248/head to average 630c to 680c/kg cwt.
