Getting back -- Paula and I spent Saturday back at our old home town of Marnoo (Wimmera area of Victoria), where they had a luncheon, a celebrity Cricket 20/20 game, a Goods and Services Good Friday appeal Auction, and a band, etc. It was a full-on day, and a very well organised event.

I reckon, for those of us that have moved away, it's a great thing to do to head "home" and support your old home town. For us, it was a great chance to catch up with friends and family, but it's also good to give a bit back to the community.

The town looks a bit tired, but the surrounding Farmers have had some ripper seasons, and the local Cricket oval and pavilion where the event was held looked absolutely magnificent. A certain individual who, like us, moved away from the district has funded the magnificent improvements, and the locals have done well to keep things looking good.

So if you are like us, and you get the chance to "go back", make sure you do, and better still, do it a couple of times. And by the way, they raised $50,000 for the Royal Childrens Hospital. Not bad for a little town of less than 100.
