There seems to be quite a few Merino Flock dispersals around this Spring. Some Farmers are looking to quit the Industry completely, and others are turning to more of a trading operation. All parties would be keen to take advantage of the prices on offer.

Last week, one such Merino dispersal netted a Wimmera Farmer $608k for 1609 Ewes at an average of $378 a head and a top of $469. Head spinning stuff.

The Ram sales are hotting up, and like last year, they are getting stronger as the selling season goes on. The bar was set yesterday by SA based Merino stud Moorundie Park, who sold 159 Rams to a top of $58,000, an average of $4270 and a gross of $678,930. Check out the result here.

Rural Property aggregator FarmBuy is moving into Livestock and has formed a partnership with FarmGate Auctions. FarmBuy's move into Livestock is based on feedback from the agents.

A lot of the Angus Studs have been offloading their aged Cows, capitalising on this strong Stud Cattle market.

Goats are in hot demand, I cannot sell enough of them. We have non left to sell other than a few pending sales that we think will go through next week. Many are chasing Boar crosses.

Interesting to see that Shane sold this trained up Kelpie for $11,500, which was $500 under the listed price. The value of a good Dag is underrated.
