Lamb supply eased to 20,942 yarded, the quality ranged from good to excellent. All the usual buying group were present in a market that was erratic at times, overall a much stronger market to a week ago with sales reaching to $20/head dearer in places. All trade weights sold on average $5 to $15 dearer. Heavy export lambs sold top $295/head to be $5 to $10/head stronger.

Store buyers were active with limited numbers of light lambs yarded, lambs back to the paddock and to feed on sold from $49 to $169 to be $5 to $7/head better. Light lambs under 18kg cwt to suit MK orders to the trade sold from $115 to $153/head. Trade lambs 18 to 22kg made from $145 to $190, lambs 22 to 24kg sold from $183 to $208, lambs 24 to 26kg made from $191 to $220/head with an average range of 780c to 820c/kg cwt. Export lambs 26 to 30kg made from $194 to $232 and over 30kg sold from $233 to $295/head with an average range of 745c to 765c/kg cwt.

Sheep numbers eased slightly to 8,694 yarded where quality was mixed ranging from plain to very good. Not all the usual buyers were active in the market but there was more competition and overall the market was firm to $8 dearer in places. Heavy Merino wethers made from $176 to $212/head to average 610c to 630c/kg cwt. Heavy Merino ewes sold from $143 to $175/head to average 570c to 580c and heavy crossbred mutton made $135 to $220/head to average 560c/kg cwt.
