Farmers protest This is a once-off Sunday edition of the "Daily". We don't cover off on local issues as they are just that, local, and the only ones interested are those affected. In fact, someone reached out to us last week requesting we alert our network of their plight. We respectfully said no. But this one is a bit closer to home, and by that, I mean it affects the community I grew up in, so this is an individual decision to support.

Our local area is under the grip of a transmission power line threat. The locals, as they do, are putting up a fight and are having a Tractor rally protest today (Monday) in St Arnaud (Vic). Organisers of the rally say that if it goes ahead, it will have a massive impact on the local community.

For Farmers, these sorts of issues are all-consuming and affect everyday Farming life, as fighting these issues takes effort and in some cases, causes anxiety.

For the power line proposal, all Farmers are in opposition, but not too far away, a community is in the grips of a wind turbine proposal. In this case, some Farmers have signed up to allow the proposal to go ahead, and others a firmly against it. We have seen in the past that these sorts of things can cause differences of opinion between neighbours and friends. These things have the ability to divide a community which is extremely sad.
