I recently read an article in the Guardian that wrote about Farmers being treated like Mushrooms when it came to Fertiliser pricing.
But I believe keeping Farmers in the dark about Fertiliser pricing is a thing of the past. For the last 18 months, we have provided a weekly Fertiliser price update to those that are interested. We now also add them to the daily email every Thursday. The weekly Fertiliser text came about when I was talking with some of our members that didn't realise we sold Fertiliser and were disappointed to hear that we had it available at more than $100.00 per tonne, cheaper than they paid at the local store. For many, the local store was the go-to, and their price was "the price".
If the past couple of years has taught me anything, it is that Farmers refuse to be kept in the dark and treated like mugs and will shop around to make sure they are locking their Fertiliser in at the best price possible. It's too expensive not to. The information is available and they will find it if they need it.
Fertiliser prices continue to gradually drop in price, due to the current lack of demand. We expect this to continue into December. We can currently lock in contracts out to the end of March, please get in touch to discuss what you may require next year, and we can keep you up to date with the price.
If you would like to be added to our Fertiliser weekly update, please send "Fert Text Please" to 0418 137 224.
