Embrace the reset -- Not many would argue that there have been pretty good Farming times since the trainwreck of a drought that broke back in late March 2020. Some Farmers have kicked ahead, and others have clawed their way back to a much more comfortable position since.

You mightn't like me saying this, but maybe a drought or a downturn can be the catalyst for a 2, 3 or 4-year good period like we have experienced. Without the drought, would times have been as good if we weren't frantically rebuilding the Herd and Flock?

So a couple of times a decade, do we need a reset forced upon us so that when that period is over, we then all reap the benefit of the upside?

They say, don't waste a good crisis. In Farming, our crisis is a downturn or drought. I do not wish a drought on anyone, but it might be a way of telling us it's time to reset, and if you want more, you have to take less for a while.
