Do we need to? - We hear alot about how we should be building relationships, educating or telling stories to our non-Farming friends in order to give them a better understanding of what we do.

But do we need to? Is it a lost cause getting people from outside Agriculture to understand how we work when they really have an opinion that would be nearly impossible to budge anyway?

I think we need to educate the ones that want to come into Ag from outside, but to anyone that doesn't, we would be wasting our time and energy?

Especially these days when the non-Agricultural people can hang their hats on the climate change story. This is getting off track a little, but I heard this today. "If we all grow Prairie Grass (Canadian native grass), the world starves. We get it. Nature grows biomass better. Agriculture grows food better. That doesn't mean agriculture is bad". Many non-Ag people want all of us to grow Prairie Grass and save the world. It might, but we would then starve. But who can be bothered telling the uneducated that? Do you think we need to be telling our story? Reply to dwaind@farmtender.com.au
