Lamb numbers remained similar at 16,181, quality ranged from plain to very good. The usual buying group attended in a stronger market for the young lambs across all categories. Store buyers were active with light store lambs selling $2 to $5/head dearer, heavy feeder lambs were to $6 to $8 better. Light and medium trade lambs sold to $8 stronger, heavy trade were $4 to $8 dearer. Competition was stronger this week for the heavy export lambs over 26kg cwt, selling $8 to $15/head dearer and more in places.

Young light lambs back to the paddock sold from $106 to $141 and feeders paid $128 to $194. Young lambs sold to the trade under 18kg from $133 to $152, 18 to 22kg made from $150 to $188, 22 to 24kg sold from $183 to $204 and 24kg to 26kg made from $204 to $240/head. Heavy export lambs 26 to 30kg sold from $233 to $260/head. Most lambs were estimated to average range of 800c to 850c/kg cwt, with sales reaching 900c in places.

Old lambs and hoggets sold to a cheaper trend, with limited numbers and quality being a factor.

Sheep numbers dropped to 6,358, quality was mostly good. Bidding was erratic at times with light sheep selling to $5 dearer, trade sheep were $5 to $8 and extra heavy sheep sold to $10/head cheaper in places. Merino wethers were in limited supply selling from $125 to $146/head. Merino ewes sold from $82 to $160 and heavy crossbred mutton made $126 to $165/head.
