But now, there is no cash - I venture in most Saturday mornings to have a "Town" Coffee. The place I frequent is a popular spot.

I talked to one of the owners last Saturday, and he told me the Cafe model is broken and has been breaking since their cash take had gone from 60 to 5 percent. And he believes the Cafe model was built around the cash reserves you could mount up. So the model is still built around a cash-based business, but now, there is no cash.

In Farming, where have we built old models that don't necessarily cut it today? Could it be something like the old set stock model for Grazing? Could it be the traditional Crop sowing methods, where you burnt, worked, worked, harrowed, sowed and harrowed again? Could it be drought funding when we are deep in a drought? Could it be traditional genetic selection where you paid for what you physically saw on the day?

I'm sure there are Farmers using some of these older-designed models successfully, and some might be using parts of the old models as tools, but for the majority, these old models have been superseded. As for the Cafes, they better invent a newby model for these cashless times.
