Lamb supply increased by 16,000 with 36,434 yarded. The quality ranged from plain to exceptional, lambs were presented in excellent condition with plenty of weight across all categories. All the usual buying group attended, and most were active in another strong market, with a strong start then easing towards the end but overall prices ended mostly firm to slightly dearer in places. Light trade lambs sold firm to 4 dearer, medium trade were firm to slightly dearer and heavy trade sold firm to $5 dearer for the very neat short, skinned lambs which are in high demand. Heavy export lambs held firm selling to a top of $295/head, with c/kg slightly softer on weight.

Competition for store lambs was strong with buyers very active, light store lambs were in good supply and sold firm to $10 better in places, lambs back to the paddock and to feed on sold from $73 to $220/head. Light lambs under 18kg cwt to suit MK orders to the trade sold from $117 to $157/head. Trade lambs 18 to 22kg made from $155 to $189, lambs 22 to 24kg sold from $180 to $207, lambs 24 to 26kg $191 to $218/head, with an average range of 780c to 820c/kg cwt. Export lambs 26 to 30kg made from $213 to $238 and over 30kg sold from $236 to $295/head with an average range of 730c to 780c/kg cwt.

Sheep numbers also increased to 13,291 yarded, quality was mixed. Not all buyers were active in the market, but competition was strong. Heavy Merino wethers, made from $152 to $180, to average 590c to 610c/kg cwt, back $10/head but not the weight or quality offered compared to a week ago. Heavy Merino ewes sold from $145 to $181, to average 580c to 590c, up $5 and heavy crossbred mutton made $145 to $222/head, to average 560c to 580c/kg cwt.
