In an exciting expansion of AWN’s livestock division, the company has acquired independent Shepparton-based agency Robson Donaldson.
The expansion will enable clients to access a larger network and take advantage of a greater range of selling centres and marketing options with the business to be known as AWN Robson Donaldson.
Branch manager Scott Donaldson says the business has a very successful affiliation with AWN.
“AWN has been selling our clients’ wool for the past eight years. This venture represents an amazing opportunity for growth for our business and a greater scope with more boots on the ground,’’ Mr Donaldson said.
“I love a challenge, and this is very exciting. We buy and sell a lot of cattle and sheep and this acquisition is a vital component of AWN’s livestock division expansion.”
Mr Donaldson will continue as Branch Manager and is joined by his father, Allan Donaldson, who is transitioning to retirement, as well as Peter Stevenson as an agent who has worked with Robson Donaldson the past ten years. They are joined by two new AWN Robson Donaldson team members; Cody Fogarty as a livestock specialist and auctioneer and Madison Ridgway as the branch’s livestock coordinator.
Robson Donaldson came to fruition in 1981 thanks to a partnership between Allan Donaldson and Len Robson.
“AWN is an Australian-owned company and there are no big corporates involved so I’m sure it will be a very good venture,” Allan Donaldson said.
“I am very proud Scott is going to be the manager of this new business. I will be staying in the background and keeping an eye on things but I believe this is a very good move for our clients.’’
Rick Maybury, Chief Operating Officer at AWN, said that this venture is an exciting opportunity for clients.
“We are very pleased to welcome Scott, Allan, Peter, Cody and Madison to the AWN team. Shepparton is a key area for AWN’s expansion, and we are looking forward to being able to further support clients in that area.”
The expansion in Shepparton will work closely with other AWN livestock agents to support clients across the East Coast.
