All roads lead to Marnoo for the Entrepreneurs in Farming event

What makes a great Ag event? One aimed specifically to a core group of stakeholders within the industry.

Add highly respected and relevant industry speakers plus reels of valuable information event attendees can take away and use themselves, and you have a winning formula.

Now in its’ 2nd year, the FarmTender2024 “Entrepreneurs in Farming” conference is on again, Friday 1st March at Glendemar Woolshed, Marnoo, Victoria and was created for this one purpose – connecting farmers with farmers.

With a range of challenges facing the farming community and the talented line-up of industry speakers presenting at the March conference, farmers are guaranteed to find real value in mixing and learning from industry peers.

Dwain Duxson, who is running the event on behalf of Farmer Tender said, "I've been to plenty of Ag events over the years, and most events offer zero or very little value for the farmer. They are too broad, and many farmers gave up attending years ago”.

"Our event is totally aimed at farmers, and all interview content will be channelled that way, Duxson said."

Another initiative Farm Tender introduced was an event with no sponsors.

“’Reason being is that we don't have to appease them at the dais. With no sponsors, we can pick and choose the absolute best speakers for our target audience” he said

Adding even more value to the audience, all speakers will be interviewed on stage.

“We feel it’s a better way to deliver as the interviewer can control what we want to extract and the direction the interview takes.”

Duxson said, " We work hard to ask well-thought-out questions that will get the best information from our speakers,".

Covering a wide range of topics, the speaker line-up this year features some of the Ag industry’s best from across Australia and plus USA visitor, cattle rancher Cassidy Johnston.

Arguably Australia's best Rural Property agents, Danny Thomas from LAWD, Danny will guide the group through where the markets are at and where the opportunities are.

With plenty of issues facing farmers, it's keeping NFF President David Jochinke busy. We want to examine all those issues with David and give farmers a better understanding of how these issues might affect them.

Hayley Grosser is a farmer and farmer’s coach. Hayley and her partner Martin have built up an extraordinary Farming operation through leasing. Things changed for these guys when they took a different attitude towards money. It's a fascinating story.

Claire Booth is a farmer and a lawyer who will relay her attitude toward succession. We will also cover the new Superannuation rules and how they affect farmer's asset base.

Broden Holland is a talented and clever young farmer who knows exactly where he is headed. Broden is pushing the boundaries towards 10/ha Cereal Crop on his property near Young in NSW. And he loves the Johne Deere X9 Headers.

Sam Van Assche is a young livestock farmer with a relentless pursuit of having a high-margin sheep operation. Sam is super switched on and tells us how he has structured his operation for success.

Andrew Weidemann has had a long commitment to grower representation and advocacy. We will discuss the renewable energy and mining threats that are present, and we will also get a handle on what it’s like to put a Ship load of Grain together.

Rob Dawes helps medium to large-scale farmers buy their input and make sure they are getting the fairest deal possible. Rob will provide some of the tactics he uses that could save farmers thousands.

John Gladigau has just exited the successful Bulla Barra collaborative farming operation. We want to pick his brain and take away some of the good points of such a partnership and learn from some of the mistakes they made.

Jeff McDonald is an expert in finance and lending, and there is plenty going on in that space right now. Jeff will take us through the best way for farmers to react now that interest rates are higher.

Cassidy Johnston is a bubbly, dynamic cattle rancher in Colorado, USA with some well-thought-out opinions on where her industry is going and some of the problems they face.

Bringing farmers together at a ‘farmers only’ event is also an opportunity to ‘get off the tractor’ for a day and network with their peers.

“A great day out” is how one farmer described the 2023 conference.

The full line-up of speakers is available on the Farm Tender website and tickets can also be purchased online at www.farmtender.com.au.
