A sleeping giant of Ag -- I was talking to Robert the other day who is the founder of Truckit, a freight-assisting platform we have a partnership with.
Robert also has a Western Queensland Station near Cunnamulla called Charlotte Plains Station. It's an operating Sheep Station, but they have branched out into Agri Tourism. They did come up with something unique by putting some old baths near the Artesian Bore, and as they say in the classics, the rest is history. Check out what I'm talking about here.
Is Agri Tourism, Accommodation Farming, or whatever you call it, a sleeping giant of Ag? Could it be big business for some Farms out there? Many Farmers would say, "why would someone want to come to my Farm"? I guess that's where we can misunderstand the potential audience in the same way we think city people misunderstand us.
And I get it. Not everyone wants 'tourists" on their Farm for one reason or another. But like how we spoke about utilising the extra houses on our Farm last week, these are opportunities worth giving a little bit of air time too. Like Charlotte Plains, they found their uniqueness, their one wood, and all the time, it was sitting there front and centre. Maybe you have something on your Farm that might be appealing to others.
