Lamb supply was similar to a week ago at 27,600 penned, quality ranged from plain to excellent with more weight offered across most categories. All the usual buying group attended and were active in a market that was mostly firm, bidding was more intense on the well-presented short skinned lambs with good finish to be dearer in places. Light trade lambs sold firm to $5 stronger, medium trade were firm and heavy trade were firm to $3/head dearer. Numbers increased and more weight presented in the heavy export lambs, selling firm $/head but cheaper c/kg to top $292/head.

Store buyers were active, with lambs back to the paddock and to feed on sold from $47 to $215 selling mostly firm. Light lambs under 18kg cwt to suit MK orders to the trade sold from $128 to $167/head. Trade 18 to 22kg made from $171 to $192, lambs 22 to 24kg sold from $189 to $221, lambs 24kg to 26kg $211 to $232/head, with an average range of 840c to 870c/kg cwt. Export lambs over 26 to 30kg made from $221 to $254 and over 30kg sold from $260 to $292/head with an average range of 750c to 840c/kg cwt.

Sheep numbers also increased to 10,120 yarded, quality was mixed ranging from plain to excellent. Most of the usual buyers were present, and all were active in a strong market, Overall, the market was $5 to $10/head dearer to a week ago. Well-presented lines of heavy Merino wethers, made from $155 to $190/head, to average 600c to 625c/kg cwt. Heavy Merino ewes sold from $111 to $200 to average 580c to 620c and heavy crossbred mutton made $144 to $229/head, to average 570c to 600c/kg cwt.
