Yarding: 48,962

Lamb supply increased with agents drawing for 36,000. Quality was mixed, again with a large portion of the yarding lambs needing finish. All the usual buying group attended in a market that started to $10 softer and dropped further as the sale progressed as buyers were selective and bidding was very erratic throughout the sale. Very light and light trade lambs sold $15 to $40 cheaper, medium trade were $20 to $30 softer and heavy trade were from $20 to $40/head cheaper. Heavy export lambs were in high demand with limited numbers offered holding firm to $6/head Softer.

Store buyers were active but also selective when bidding, with lambs back to the paddock and to feed on selling from $40 to $175/head.

Young lambs sold to the trade under 18kg from $64 to $148, trade lambs 18 to 22kg made from $123 to $174, 22 to 24kg sold from $140 to $191 and 24 to 26kg made from $184 to $214/head with a wide range of 660c to 790c/kg cwt. Heavy export lambs 26kg and over sold from $218 to $276/kg, with an average range of 840c to 860c/kg cwt.

Sheep numbers increased to 11,961 yarded, quality was varied and not all buyers were active, competition lacked any intensity throughout the sale with all categories $20 to $40/head cheaper across the yarding. Merino wethers sold from $27 to $144/head. Merino ewes sold from $23 to $105 and crossbred mutton sold from $34 to $144.
