Our small family-owned business is in Ascot, central Victoria and stems from a long history with the land and more importantly decades of practical experience with irrigation.

Ian seen in photo above unblocking sprinklers at the age of five in a potato crop and still finds himself unblocking over 50 years later. In a past life Ian owned and operated forty pivots buying his first pivot in the late 1980s and in the early 1990s had a considerable influence on a USA manufacture in producing a hybrid Aluminium over galvanized frame pivot system that is still a current model for that manufacture today some 30 years later.

Ian become a dealer of the US made center pivots for 15 years mostly selling the hybrid version Aluminium over Galvanized including large laterals over 1200 meters wide. Over the decades the aluminum piped system proved to be the ultimate with better corrosion resistance and a lighter footprint leading to less wheel tracking on most situations. Because of the lightweight pipe and traditional structure, the Aluminium hybrid has a lower center of gravity than galvanized systems leading to better stability in tough conditions including high winds.

In 2018 Ian and his partner Anna set up Agnflow in a direction to manufacture an Australian made version of our composite system using aluminium – galvanized steel and stainless steel. Using the past decades of knowledge and practical pivot experience we have been able to achieve a world class system in a very short time.

Our experience using Aluminum water pipe now spans over 30 years, there will be some older irrigators out there who will recall the Steriline Centre pivot made in South Australia from the late 70s. This system found its way across Australia with systems still in use today that exceed 40 years of operation. Ian brought a farm in 1990 that had two of these systems one 4” and one 6” and saw the benefit of Aluminium systems firsthand.

Design

Our pivot system Agnflow AL13-G gives way to uncomplicated design and a commonsense approach to and utilizing as much Australian made material as possible, we secured our Australian made registration in 2021. Our system is available in 150mm and 203mm versions with span lengths from 36 – 48 meters. Using a proven truss and brace design along with one of the strongest tower support systems made today the AL13-G is a very robust system. We have been supported well by BlueScope steel and their Australian made Aluminium and steel products, for galvanizing we use Geelong galvanizing.

We are lucky to have a couple of very well-equipped laser cutting companies at our back door. Many of our small parts are made from either aluminium or stainless steel.

Australian Made

Our Centre Point

We offer towable and non-towable versions to suit our 150mm and 203mm spans.

Our Towable option is a basic uncomplicated design using freewheeling hubs with towable plates that enable the wheels to be turned allowing any direction tow of the pad.

The AL13-G also comes with a Stainless-Steel option to give the ultimate in corrosion protection.

Control and Alignment

The AL13-G comes with several control options.

Our basic control panel is set in a Stainless-Steel panel using well known componentry, utilizing a simple percentage timer and switches make for simple control of the system.

Our advanced version is achieved by using the third-party system FIELD WISE (made in the USA) enclosed in our all-new aluminium cabinet. Our computer-controlled panel comes with either a 5 inch or 10-inch touch screen and allows for full automation of the system, offering the same options as the big brands.

Our system control alignment is based on a very proven design using spring and rod method, our tower boxes are the strongest on the market using a Stainless-Steel and Aluminum hinged lid system so it will never blow off or corrode.

The Agnflow system does not compromise on the quality of span cable we use matching each system accordingly.

Drive Line

Our preferred supplier of drive train components is UMC which is used on most major brands and using 40/1 -50/1 combinations makes it interchangeable with most systems on the market today. Our drive shafts are designed by us and use a heavy universal coupling on a telescoping shaft just like an implement PTO shaft makes for simple use.

Sprinkler Options

At Agnflow we pride ourselves on offering the best sprinkler package options and over the past few years we have developed a high understanding of LEPA offerings. Using LEPA (Low Energy Precision Application) we have been able to achieve some massive water and energy savings. For many of our customers we have been able to reduce wheel tracking completely, which is a combination of the lighter hybrid pivot system and our use of LEPA especially around the wheel track area.

We recommend either Senninger or Komet sprinklers on our systems.

End Guns and Boost Pumps

People often ask are end guns worth it. The answer can be complicated at times and often needs a lot of thought and understanding of the customer requirements and limitations before just adding one for the sake of adding an end gun system.

We tend to sell a lot of boost pumps on smaller systems for customers who are chasing extra irrigated area often on higher value crops on high value farmland. We have developed a simple but robust design to take all size boost pumps on our systems and deliver through some thoughtful design points all the way out to the end nozzle.

LEPA Options

LEPA sprinkler options come in a range of configuration but basically is designing close spacing outlets at low ground level. Depending on the configuration spacings can be as close as.

Wastewater Application

Pictured below, an 8-span coated Aluminium pivot installed for Central Highlands Water (Ballarat) used at one of their recycled farms. Agnflow designed the system around using close spacing bubblers eliminating drift and odor.
