May 1968 Land Rover Series 2A, GS 109” 3/4 Ton 4WD Ute.
The vehicle is X Military, Army Registration Number (ARN 172-173).
The motor runs, and is the original matching number 4 cylinder 2.25L petrol engine # 25307055J.
The vehicle also has matching numbers gearbox and differential along with the Factory fitted PTO.
The vehicle presents with no rust! all outriggers, bulk head and floor pans are all in excellent condition.
The vehicle has new plugs, leads, coil, cap, condenser, and rotor button.
Has replacement new genuine left front windscreen and left side door glass not fitted. Along with new left and right hand door window rubber and felt kit.
The vehicles clutch and brakes need attention due to a rusted and leaking master cylinder reservoir. The vehicle is complete other than the roof and cargo canvas cover and some of the bonnet mounted tools.
It is extremely rare to find one of these vehicles with log book records which provides the information as to whether or not the vehicle served in battle or not. Unfortunately this vehicle does not have the log books but does have all the necessary equipment, signage and spec that would have been required for service. It has however been suggested after speaking with an administrator from the REMLR along with a number of X vets, That this particular vehicle would appear to have been used in the South Vietnam war, being it is period and Military correct and was originally fitted with the welded links, one on the gear stick and the other onto the underside of the dashboard, to enable the use of a padlock to join the two together to prevent theft of the vehicle.
