Grain Outlet
All of our grain silos are equipped with our proprietary grain outlet at the base of the cone. Designed for efficiency and ease of use, our outlet features a large 400mm opening, low-friction HDPE slides, safety guarding, and a canvas diverter that makes sure the grain goes where it’s meant to! Lid Opener
Open and close the top lid of your silo without climbing to the top! Our lid opener is a timesaving standard feature and is made up of a 760mm lid with a large lever handle and cable that extends to the base of the silo. A winch at ground level opens the lid against strong holding-down springs, and upon release of the cable the lid springs closed again. Available in standard or gas-tight versions.
Sight Glasses
Sight glasses allow you to quickly see how much product is in your silo. We include 100mm diameter clear Perspex sight glasses as standard, spaced at one sight glass per 1200mm wall sheet. Sight glasses can also be fitted anywhere on the silo – including in the base – depending on your needs.
Base Blocks 15mm
Base blocks prevent water, dust and grain from accumulating under the silo rings and make cleaning around the base of your silo much easier. This has the effect of significantly increasing the lifespan of your silo rings. We install all new silos with 15mm base blocks and given the no-weld design, they can be easily retrofitted to your existing silos.
30 Degree Cone
Our grain silos come with a 30 degree cone angle as standard. Over the years, we have found that a 30º angle is best for most grain storage, with the ideal balance of friction and flow rate. However some applications benefit from a deeper or shallower cone and we can customise the cone angle to your requirements – just ask, we’re always happy to discuss what’ll work best for you.
Base Manhole
A base manhole allows appropriately trained and equipped personnel to inspect, clean and maintain the silo. Our ledge-free design stops product from building up on top of the manhole and the pointed design greatly reduces how much feed falls out when opening the manhole. Note: round manholes are still used on sealed silos to allow for better sealing.
External Wall Stays on Larger Silos
Our 77-110 tonne wheat & grain silos feature external wall stays, rather than the more common internal stays that can cause grain to stick and hang. Cleaning silos is at best a pain, and at worst a highly hazardous task, so anything we can do to make it easier is a win in our book.
