Full blood Wagyu (parent verified on AWA database). Bred by the owner. Looking for buyers who want to access MBS6-7 (average) Wagyu beef as part of a syndicate of meat buyers. This might suit retail buyers, or even smaller restaurants or butchers looking to supply customers wanting premium beef at reasonable prices.

The concept is simple. We manage the cattle on our properties. We do all the preparation of the animals, organising the breeding, feeding, vaccination, transport, processing and butchering. You are given full details for the syndicated animal - parent verification, registration, ear tag number, NLIS tag number.

You pay an agistment fee for the animal (currently $9 per week). We agree a contracted delivery date. You pay all the processing fees from the abattoir, butchering costs, cryovac bagging costs, transport fees. We charge a per kg fee (prior to processing) based on the live weight of the animal (confirmed prior to processing). Based on average processing weights, we expect each steer to weigh in about 650kg. This translates to a carcase weight of approximately 400kg. In our experience this produces about 280kg of useable meat. We can advise on the best way to break down each carcase, or you can choose your own cuts, what ever suits you best. The syndicate price for each steer is $8.50 per kg (live weight) which, based on an outturn of 280kg of useable meat, will mean a price of $20 per kg for full blood Wagyu meat (not including the agistment, processing and transport fees). Based on our current steers, which are between 9 and 15 months old, the remaining agistment will be 84-108 weeks (a maximum of $1,000 per animal), which adds about $3.50 per kg to the meat price. Butchering and bagging costs are $4 per kg (carcase weight), which adds about $5.70 per kg to the meat price. All up, we would expect a per kg meat price of less than $30 per kg. Compared the the prices being asked by major retailers like Woolworths, Coles and Aldi, we feel this represents great value, especially when you know exactly where your meat is coming from.

All you have to do is watch the animal grow - we provide regular photographic updates and if you wish you can come to see where they are and how they're doing - and organise the collection of the meat from the butcher after the processing, hanging and butchering. The syndicate can choose how they wish to divide up the meat either at the commencement or at the finish. Individual syndicate members can choose to on sell some or all of their share. Ownership of the animal/carcase does not pass to the syndicate until the live weight price is paid prior to processing. The syndicate will be invoiced directly by the butcher.

NB Because the syndicate is buying fresh meat, not cattle on the hoof, there is no GST payable on these transactions.

We have been breeding full blood Wagyu since 2002 (24 years). We have been providing pasture to plate services such as beef boxes for retail/wholesale customers since 2019 (7 years). We can provide references, if required.
