The dry spell has cost us, and we have decided to keep a few calves and hold off on breeding for a few years.
They are docile, and single-strand electric fence trained. Resistant to pests compared to the Angus we also had here, and hardier on native pasture and sub-par forage.
They are wonderful mothers. We have seen two calves from three of the cows, all great, and one cracking calf from another. The fifth was never joined and is a 4-year-old heifer.
Originally bought from Palinga Devon Stud in Gloucester, and we have their registration papers.
