‘Extender’ meal is a balanced blend of digestible starches (25%) combined with available proteins and specialty fiber sources. This allows an optimum rumen environment to break down, and utilise, more pasture or lush feeds, while at the same time providing a safe starch option to assist in the breakdown or pasture proteins in the rumen.
The starch is provided via 'Protena Bread', which is a cooked starch. The cooking process means the starches are gelatinised and therefore are more available and are 99% digestible.
‘Extender’ is a great starter feed that can be fed in troughs or added to any other feeds being fed on farm. The combination of fibre and moderate levels of starch provide a safe feeding option, although care will need to be taken at introduction.
