Some urgency gone out of the Hay market

You know when you go to the Footy and it looks like one team is going to lose, and fans start streaming out the gate, that's what the Hay market is like right now.

Don't get me wrong, the demand is still around, and some are still desperate for Hay. I think people now know that it's hard to find and that has dampened their enthusiasm to look.

It was natural that prices would rise across the board over the last fortnight and that's what happened. Most lines were up $5-$10 a tonne

Much of the Hay you see on the road today has been booked up for weeks.

The Australian Fodder Industry Association (AFIA) is holding it's annual conference in Adelaide on the 29th, 30th and 31st of July. If you are keen to go then make sure you book in sooner rather than later as I am told positions are filling fast. With the lead up to the new Hay season, we will start looking at some of the things we have learned from the last few months and come up with a few tips that might help going forward
