Yarding - 15,915 (-785).
Lambs - 12,630 (+630).
Sheep - 3,285 (-1415).

Lamb supply remained similar, however, quality eased, with not as many impressive trade and export lambs off supplementary feed available. The sale did fluctuate, opening strongly before losing pace which distorted some results by creating a wide carcase price spread. Export buyers were reluctant to push above $300 this week, the top price being $307, nearly $20/head behind a week ago on plainer quality. There was a strong feedlot order for trade weight sized lambs which paid to $198/head and competed against processors. The highlight of the sale was demand for Merino lambs, with all weights and grades of this breed showing price improvements.

Extra heavy export lambs over 30kg cwt made from $300 to $307/head, with just five pens in this high dollar per head range. The main run of heavy crossbred lambs, weighing 26-30kg cwt, varied from $221 to $280/head for a carcase price from 800c to more than 950c/kg cwt plus. The good 24-26kg cwt processing lambs sold from $225 to $261, and the 22-24kg cwt pens made from $195 to $224/head. Prices estimated from 850c to 950c/kg cwt covered the bulk of the better finished lambs for processors. The heaviest Merino lambs off supplementary feed reached $250, with the main run of medium weights 20-22kg cwt making from $173 to $199/head. Some Merino lambs were estimated above 900c/kg cwt. Processor demand for MK bag lambs was stronger this week, which helped boost prices for small Merino lambs in the 12-16kgcwt category.
