AACo lures AuctionsPlus Anna Speer and Nigel Simonsz

The Australian Agricultural Company Limited (ASX:AAC), Australia’s largest producer of premium branded beef, is pleased to announce the appointment of Nigel Simonsz as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Anna Speer as Chief Operating Officer Pastoral.

Nigel brings to AACo a strong track record of achievement in complex, listed environments across the FMCG industry. Most recently, Nigel served as National Chief Financial Officer for The Salvation Army, and prior to that was Chief Executive Officer, Australia and New Zealand, for international FMCG firm, PZ Cussons.

During his time with PZ Cussons, Nigel held a number of senior finance and executive leadership roles, and brings with him global experience across markets. He has also worked with General Mills and BHP during his career.

Anna joins from leading online livestock marketplace, AuctionsPlus, where she has served since 2014 as Chief Executive Officer. Previously, Anna was General Manager at Livestock Exchange, and has extensive experience in the cattle industry, including at Consolidated Pastoral Company. Anna is known for her strong track record in strategic transformations, and deep knowledge of the global agribusiness industry.

In her new role, Anna will be responsible for the strategic and operational leadership of pastoral operations, feedlots, southern processing and breeding to efficiently and sustainably deliver into AACo’s brands and customer experience.

AACo Chief Executive Officer, Hugh Killen, said he was excited to welcome Nigel and Anna to AACo’s leadership team and that each would bring skills and capabilities closely aligned to AACo’s strategic agenda. Speaking further on the two appointments, he commented:

Nigel has a Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Economics from the University of Queensland, and is a member of CPA Australia.

Anna has a Global Executive Masters in Business Administration from The University of Sydney and a Bachelor of Science from Deakin University. She is also a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and served as a board member of the Future Farmers Network.

Nigel’s appointment will be effective from 1 August 2018, while Anna’s appointment will be effective from 16 August 2018.
