Valley Lateral Travelling Irrigator

Total length under irrigation is 366m.
Upon request, I can supply a comprehensive folder of photos.
It has been setup for horticultural use and we have added a long list of features over and above the original Valley design.
It was commissioned in 2000.

SPANS:
It comprises of 8 spans (9 wheel towers). Span 1 = 32.2m, Spans 2 to 8 = 47.8m each.

IRRIGATION SYSTEM:
Jets are #36 rotors at 5.2m centres. Part circles at ends are #15 spinners. Normal operating pressure is 350kPa. Total flow with all valves open is 40 Litres per second.
Water is delivered along the length of the irrigator through an under-slung poly main of 160mm OD to reduce friction losses and eliminate frame corrosion issues. The poly is coated white to reduce expansion with heat.
Each span also has its own white poly sub-main of 90mm OD which can be individually turned on or off via piloted 3" diaphragm Martin Valves (9 off). The on/off control of each span is done from the main tower and pilot control tubes run the length of the irrigator to the diaphragm valves.
For even further irrigation flexibility, each sprinkler dropper also has individual ball valves.
At maximum travel speed (min water application), the irrigator moves at about 200m/hr.

POWER SYSTEM:
Each wheel set is driven by an electric 3 phase motor (10 motors in total).
Motor name plates - Hosepower 1.5/1.25, Volts AC 460/380, Amps 2.5, Hertz 60/50.
The 3 phase generator is power by a 4 cylinder Yanmar diesel engine which has done 10750 Hrs. (not the original engine).
The machine itself has done 22938 Hrs since it was commissioned.

WHEELS:
There are 20 wheels and rims. Each 14.9 - 24 on 13" RIM 13-24.

STEER:
The irrigation machine tracks via an underground guidance wire with aerial receivers in the centre span.

CURRENT SETUP:
At present it is setup to irrigate 5 paddocks, each of 200m long. Water is supplied via hydrants (5 off) on the headland at the main tower side, in the middle of each 200m long paddock. From each hydrant is a 125m long poly hose (160mm OD), that connects to the main tower. The hose dragged by the irrigator as it travels. We have made many modification to this hose loop and connect system to streamline changeover time, reliability and ease of use. Hose tools, swivel fittings and procedures are included in the scope.

It has never been towed or relocated from it original commissioned location.

EXCLUSIONS:
Underground guidance wire (only because it isn't worth digging up)
Automatic telemetry pump start/stop control system (although available to purchase if the buyer wishes to).
Packing down the irrigator into freight suitable parts.
